Great to see that construction is now underway on Stage Two of the Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation Project—a major milestone born of genuine collaboration for one of Queensland’s greatest beaches.
With machinery now on-site, this phase will deliver the Central Meeting Place alongside a new terraced seawall, accessible pathways, and modern amenities—creating a vibrant, inclusive foreshore for everyone. Designed by our friends at Place Design Group, Stage 2 builds on the success of Stage 1, opened in June 2022 which has revitalised the northern foreshore of Mooloolaba.
Over the past 18 months Reactivate Consulting has worked closely with Sunshine Coast Council and the local business community to help prepare the town centre and its surrounds for this revitalisation via a strategic business activation plan. From global placemaking research to tailored workshops, stakeholder interviews and regular business briefings, our team worked with traders, tourism operators and local business to help inform the approach to the revitalisation roll out as well as access arrangements, capacity building, place activation initiatives and legislative support during the lengthy revitalisation period.
This next stage demonstrates the power of early, sustained and ongoing engagement and we look forward to seeing Mooloolaba’s transformative vision unfold!
